Years after Lucy Miller (Scarlett Johansson) transcended her human form and merged with the fabric of spacetime, the world has moved on—but her legacy has not. The black supercomputer she left behind, containing the sum of her knowledge, has been secretly preserved by Professor Norman (Morgan Freeman) in a hidden lab beneath Paris. However, a rogue faction of scientists, led by the brilliant but unhinged Dr. Elena Voss (Anya Taylor-Joy), discovers its existence and seeks to harness its power to “reboot” humanity, believing they can unlock the same potential Lucy did and create a new species of superhumans.

The story begins with a mysterious phenomenon: across the globe, random individuals start exhibiting fragments of Lucy’s abilities—telekinesis, glimpses of the past, and brief bursts of superintelligence. Cities warp into surreal landscapes, time loops trap entire populations, and the Echoes grow more unstable, some becoming godlike while others descend into madness. Kai, who has his own latent Echo abilities, becomes the key to reaching Lucy’s consciousness, which still exists as a sentient force within the universe. In a mind-bending journey through spacetime, Kai confronts Lucy—not as a physical being, but as an omnipresent entity who warns that humanity isn’t ready for her power. She reveals that Voss’s signal risks unraveling existence itself, collapsing the universe into a singularity.

The climax unfolds in a race against time: Kai and Norman infiltrate Voss’s facility, a towering structure fused with alien-like technology born from the supercomputer’s influence. As Voss activates the final signal, Lucy intervenes through Kai, granting him temporary access to her full potential. In a visually stunning battle, Kai manipulates matter and energy to dismantle Voss’s machine, while Lucy’s voice echoes through the chaos, urging humanity to find its own path to evolution without her interference. Voss, consumed by her obsession, merges with the collapsing tech, becoming a monstrous hybrid of flesh and code before vanishing into a void.
